IKEA, the iconic global home furnishing group, has selected Electrolux Professional kitchen equipment for its 700-seat restaurant at the recently-opened IKEA Bangna, the group’s largest store in South East Asia.
The installation is a continuation of a close working relationship between the two Swedish giants after Electrolux was selected as one of IKEA’s exclusive suppliers in Europe in 2008.
Commenting on the installation, Sutti Manokitjarunman, General Manager of Electrolux Thailand, said the project demonstrated the strength of the company’s professional products which ultimately reinforced consumer’s confidence in Electrolux brand.
“The project team at IKEA worked closely with Electrolux Professional region team to meet the design demands of this prestigious project in Bangkok,” said Khun Sutti. “We have now established a proven template which we believe can be replicated to the chain’s new stores as they open in the coming months and years.’’
The equipment matches the size of the restaurant. Electrolux has installed large braising pans of 100 litre capacity. Kitchen staff also rely on Electrolux’s Thermaline cooking range, the ideal solution for preparing large quantities of food while maintaining excellent quantity. In addition, Air-o-steam Touchline Combi ovens guarantee high productivity, efficiency and great food results for the hundreds of hungry shoppers.
To deal with the enormous volume of dirty dishes and crockery left behind by customers, IKEA chose Electrolux Flight Type Dishwashers that assure excellent washing, rinsing performance and hygiene.
The new IKEA store in Bangkok, Thailand, is a stand-alone 40,000 square meters shop located in the heart of the 225,000 square meter Mega Banga Shopping Center.
